PREMIER GROOM 2008
held on 3rd August 2008
The eventual winner of Best In Show at the first ever Premier Groom competition won with a West Highland White Terrier. The competition was held on 3rd August 2008 at My Pet Stop, Leeds (Click here) and the winner beat 47 other hopeful competitors to take the title.
This competition was organised by Groom Team England and Red Cape (Click here) with the Best in Show prize money of £1000 sponsored by WAHL UK Ltd.(Click here) It was formed to give people more opportunity to develop and fine tune their competition skills and also to encourage more beginners into the competition ring as well as raising funds for Groom Team England.
Classes were held throughout the day judged by Jitka Krizova, Su Eld-Weaver and Colin Taylor. Each judge received a commemorative glass award. The Beginners Class was judged by Alison Rogers and Peter Ensell.
All competitors received a groomer’s bag from WAHL filled with goodies.

All 1st Places received £50, a plaque and a Les Poochs Groomer Pack and a trophy.
All 2nd Places received £30, a plaque, Les Poochs Groomer Pack and a trophy.
All 3rd Places received £20, a plaque, Les Poochs Groomer pack and a trophy.
Throughout the day the event was being filmed by The Styling Academy (www.thestylingacademy.com)
who has made a DVD from which proceeds will go to support the Groom Team England.
This DVD is ideal viewing for anyone wishing to see the events of the day and is a must for anyone wishing to know what happens when competing, with interviews and comments from both competitors and judges.
