GROOM TEAM ENGLAND SUCCESS
Two members of Groom Team, Zoe and Alison attended the prestigious graduation ceremony at the Merchant Taylors Hall in London on the 9 May to receive their Licentiateship of the City & Guilds Institute (LCGI), which means that they have the letters LCGI after their names. Joanne committee member was also at the same ceremony to receive the same award. Peter received the same award the year previous.
They will be fully recognized at the level of Master Craftsman in Europe and towards the level of National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4. This award recognizes five years of professional development and the achievement of units from the Higher Diploma in dog grooming.
At the present time both Team member Jitka and committee member Becky are completing their LCGI application but will have to wait until next May to attend the Graduation ceremony.
Diana a committee member received at the same ceremony the Graduateship of the City & Guilds of London Institute (GCGI). This is a management award.
In achieving these award both the team and committee are demonstrating their commitment to the furtherance of high standards for the future of grooming and groomers. There are many groomers out there who could achieve the LCGI all it takes is a little planning, you must have at least five years grooming experience and demonstrate continual professional development by achieving modules from the Higher Diploma in Dog Grooming. All this is part of a groomer’s career route. The grooming industry is moving ever forward so why not be part of this development.
